Our founder, Yosamu Barekye, spent over 25 years in Uganda’s formal banking sector, including leadership roles at Stanbic Bank Uganda, DFCU Bank, and Equity Bank. During these years, he witnessed firsthand the transformative power of good financial management—and the devastating consequences of poor financial decisions and debt mismanagement.
What troubled Yosamu most was seeing talented, hardworking individuals and promising organizations derailed by financial challenges that could have been prevented through better knowledge and strategic guidance. He witnessed the ripple effects: families unable to invest in children’s education, entrepreneurs unable to access credit to grow their businesses, organizations failing because of poor financial management despite having viable business models.
In 2024, Yosamu founded Redeemer Financial Services with a clear mission: to redeem people from financial struggles through expert guidance, practical training, and professional debt and credit management services. The company name reflects our core belief—that financial redemption is not just possible, it’s essential for human flourishing and generational progress.
